STONETOWN

ASMINI PALACE HOTEL (Budget )

This small boutique hotel is right in the heart of Stonetown with a quiet and convenient location. Comfortable rooms with modern bathrooms. Roof-top restaurant is a plus.

Kholle House ( Mid-range )

Lovely Swahili chic-style boutique hotel offering a quite oasis in the heart of Stonetown. Originally built in 1860 by Princess Khole, the daughter of the first Sultan of Zanzibar. Opened recently, after a three year renovation, done in in an elegant fusion of Swahili and French Creole design. Complete with small courtyard plunge pool and rooftop tea house. Comfortable and stylish rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Small group tour hotel.

Zanzibar Serena Inn ( Luxury )

This is Stonetown's only truly 5 star hotel complete with pool overlooking the Zanzibar channel, luxury rooms and fine restaurants. A colonial period ambience pervades what is a beautiful restoration of the old Chinese doctor's residence together with what was once the terminal building for the undersea cable. Very much a lush haven of tranquility for the upscale world traveller.

51 guest rooms include four suites, each with a private balcony overlooking the Indian Ocean. Large pool and excellent food are offered by this luxury hotel, all in an understated but elegant fashion.

BEACH HOTELS

Paje Dhow Inn ( Budget )

If you are looking for a quiet and modest small hotel on the beach, look no further! Located on Paje Beach on Zanzibar's lovely east coast. Ideal for singles, couples and families are also welcome. Large beds and hot showers in rooms. Some rooms are A/C, but small extra charge. WiFi is free for guests - as is use of the nice swimming pool. Intimate and " away-from-it-all " vibe best describes this small beach resort.

Sunshine Hotel ( Mid-range )

Sunshine Hotel is a small boutique beach hotel, located on pristine Matemwe Beach on Zanzibar's idyllic north-east coast.

Eco-friendly and stylish.  Unique Swahili chic chill-out experience. Complete with swimming pool and cozy restaurant/bar. Each room comes with double bed and prviate ensuite bathroom.

Sultan Sands Beach Resort ( Luxury )

First class beach resort on the East Coast less than an hour's drive from Stonetown.
